Alcohol Abstinence Monitoring Requirement pilot goes national

An Alcohol Abstinence Monitoring Requirement (sometimes known as a ‘sobriety tag’) pilot launched in June 2017 and ran until the end of August 2019. A total of 231 orders were imposed across Humberside, Lincolnshire, and North Yorkshire, with 55 of these being implemented in Grimsby courts. Following evaluation examining the long-term impacts of this intervention, the scheme is now going to be rolled out nationally.

The Comeback

Preventing radicalisation

The North East Lincolnshire guide to training resources has been highlighted as an example of good practice in the counter terrorism policing North East’s regional newsletter.

Policing resources

Three additional neighbourhood policing resources have been secured for North East Lincolnshire: two in East Marsh and one in Grimsby West. This additional resource will make a positive difference to communities’ policing in the borough.

Youth Offending Service

The Youth Offending Service has been identified as an example of good practice and is working on a national youth justice initiative with the Youth Justice Board on their youth justice model, using Criminal Behaviour Orders only as a last resort (none issued to date).
