Family Group Conferencing

A family group conference is a consent process led by family members to plan and make decisions for a child when concerns have been raised. Children and young people are at the centre of the family group conference and their family plan. This process can be supported with an advocate and / or a translator based on the family or child’s needs.

Family Group Conference is a voluntary process and families cannot be forced to participate. Only professionals such as social workers can make a referral for a Family Group Conference.
